Best Memory Foam Mattresses with Micro Support by Serta

Today, many people prefer a memory foam mattress for its pressure-relieving comfort, ability to conform and adapt to each person’s body, and outstanding motion isolation. Even so, traditional memory foam technology hasn’t changed much since it was invented more than 40 years ago. While it can provide great comfort to many, others find that memory foam mattresses can sleep too hot, sink in too deeply or make it hard to adjust sleep positions in the night. Isn’t it about time that someone reinvented memory foam?

Introducing the new iComfort Sleep System by Serta, featuring our Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam – the world’s first memory foam infused with the support and cooling touch of Serta’s MicroSupport™ gel. This revolutionary new memory foam is designed to deliver superior pressure relief and more targeted support while sleeping cooler than ordinary memory foam. Plus, it is antimicrobial and dust mite resistant to help protect your mattress from potential allergens.

What makes iComfort technology better than ordinary memory foam? Serta’s Cool Action Gel Memory Foam is designed to feel like traditional memory foam…only better! What makes our Cool Action material different is the MicroSupport gel, which is infused into premium memory foam to create an extremely comfortable, more supportive and cooler sleep surface.

Heat build up during the night can cause uncomfortable and restless sleep. While ordinary memory foam can trap heat against the body, Serta’s Cool Action™ material combines an open cell structure and our MicroSupport™ gel to dramatically increase airflow and actually whisk heat away from the body. In fact, it is up to 12 times more breathable than ordinary memory foam to help create a cooler and more comfortable sleep experience.

Cincinnati Furniture Tips: Kid’s Furniture Trends

It’s back to school time! Ed Hartman from Furniture Fair and Gary Sullivan discuss kids furniture your home on the HomeWoRx show. Here are some additional tips below:

3 Tips on How to Buy Stylish, Kid-Friendly Furniture
By Abe Abbas, About.com Guide
___________________________________________________________
If you have small children, you should not have to choose between having kid-friendly furniture and having attractive furniture. Today you can find furniture that’s beautiful and family-friendly. There are many choices available, so look for certain features before you begin shopping for furniture.

Look for Hardy Surfaces:
Look for surfaces that can take some abuse, such as spills and scratches.

• Guess which surface is easy to clean and can take a lot of abuse? Leather. It can be wiped clean easily and makes any room look better.
• Oak and cherry are durable woods, and can take a beating, but avoid pine as it dents easily.
• Glass tabletops will not succumb to stains, but should be avoided with younger children around.

Consider Storage:
Children can create lots of clutter, so consider furniture that offers lots of storage.

• Entertainment centers and armoires can be used for storing anything and are ideal for keeping rooms orderly and free of video games, CDs and toys.
• Look for chests in a variety of styles and finishes. Many furniture manufacturers offer them in a range of sizes and styles that are perfect for the family room or the bedroom.

Choose Versatility:
With growing children your needs keep changing all the time. Consider furniture that can be put to another use later on as needs change.

Furniture such as computer workstations or coffee tables is usually placed in areas of the home where the whole family spends time together. You may want to pick what suits your needs at present, but remember that these items can be used in more than one location and can be rearranged at a later time.

Top 10 Ways to Add Color to a Living Room
From Coral Nafie, former About.com Guide
___________________________________________________________
When it comes to home decorating, not everyone has either the time or the money to do a whole makeover in their living room. But don’t fret! You don’t have to spend a lot of either to get a nice change and pick-up to the look of your room. Read here for our 10 favorite ways to add color to your living room and liven up the décor of your home.

1. Paint One Wall
You will find that you can add a real punch of color by painting just one wall of your living room. This will really change the focal point of the living room without getting into a major decorating project. If your room has a niche, that’s the perfect choice for extra color. You can choose a bold, contrasting color picked from a floral fabric, or a subtle tone darker than the tone of the other walls. Any change in color will add interest and splash!

2. Throw a Few Pillows Around
Nothing adds color like pillows strategically placed on furniture. Whether you choose solids for a floral sofa or chair, or colorful, patterned pillows for a solid color chair or sofa, these simple additions will add comfort and just the right splash of color.

3. Add a Bit of Mother Nature (even if it means trying to fool her!)
Green plants or flowering ones add color, fragrance, personality, and just good feelings to the living room. If you really don’t have a green thumb, ask your nursery or home center to recommend ones that require little or no care. If you’re gone from home a lot, settle for some of the wonderful artificial ones on the market now. You can find great looking plants, foliage, and flowers that only need to be dusted.

4. Add a Whimsical Lamp
Even if you have a traditional classic living room, you can add a point of interest by selecting a lamp or shade that is colorful or whimsical. How about using an interesting pot or sculpture? You can have the electrical components installed for a reasonable price at a lamp shop. Then select a shade that’s an interesting shape, and glue trim of fringe, beads, or ribbon around the top and bottom to add color.

5. Put Some Color on the Floor
A colorful throw rug, strategically placed in front of a chair or under a coffee table can add color and texture to a living room. It can be put on top of hardwood flooring, painted floors, or carpet. You can choose a contrast color, chosen from fabric you’re using in the room, or look for one with an interesting pattern that ties into the theme of your room.

6. Freshen Up a Chair Cushion
If you have a small chair, such as a desk chair or side chair, consider recovering the seat cushion. Fresh color on even this small area will offer interest and bring life to a dreary corner.

7. Reflecting Color
Try placing a large mirror on a bare, boring wall. Choose an interesting frame or decorate a piece of mirror with cording or braid. If you have an old frame, consider painting it a bright color. The mirror will reflect the color from around the room and add light to the space.

8. Get Artsy
A colorful piece of art placed in a living room not only adds a decorative touch, but also introduces colors and shapes you might not be able to use in a larger area. Try framing simple photos with colorful mats and bright frames.

9. Paint the Back of a Bookshelf
A great touch of color and interest can be added by painting a bookshelf two colors (or even more!) Paint the frame and outside one color, and paint the inside of the piece, behind the shelves, with a contrasting color. You can choose different shades for each shelf if you really want to draw the eye. The color will really help the items on the shelves pop out and look important.

10. Snuggle Up With a Throw
A handmade quilt, nubby woven throw, or cozy, colorful blanket adds interest when draped over the back or arm of a neutral sofa or chair. Choose a color that accents other pieces in the room, as well. And this practical touch can be used for keeping cozy when watching television or reading a book.

48 Years Serving The Tri-State Cincinnati Area

Since March 1st we have been celebrating our 48th Anniversary.  To kick it off we had Ed Hartman and Anthony Munoz visit our Fairfield store and sign autographs.  While doing so they also handed out our Community Price Watch badges and sunglasses.  Now, everyone who visits our store has the chance to participate in our “Special Agent” theme.  A theme we came up with because our villain, High Price, has been spotted in town and we are on the hunt!  We heard about his 50% off compare at sales and wanted to deputize our customers, encouraging them to cut through the gimmick and find The Low Price.  A price based on the BEST VALUE, and not based off some inflated suggested price.

Also, to celebrate we have been giving away a $2000 shopping spree once a week for the entire month of March!  So far we have announced our first winner.  Only 3 more to go!  Have you registered yet?  If not, you can do so at one of our many convenient store locations.

If you missed out on the opportunity to see Ed & Anthony at the Fairfield store, they will be visiting our Florence, KY location on March 26th from 2pm to 4pm.

Feel free to bring any memorabilia you might want signed.  Also accompanying the Furniture Fair team will be a Florence police officer providing child i.d. kits and fingerprinting.  Click here to check out the D.A.R.E. Child Safety Program.  We are very pleased to support this cause and incorporate it into our theme.  Check back often to read about more fun and interesting things going on at Furniture Fair!

We are proud of our truck drivers!

At Furniture Fair we believe in servicing the customer after the sale.  We realize that one of our last chances to go above and beyond for our customers is during delivery and furniture setup.  Upon  delivery we have our truck drivers call customer service so the customer can let us know about their experience.  We get lots of great calls and have many stories to tell.  I want to take this opportunity to give you one good example of why we are so proud.

Last December our truck drivers Chris and Tony from Truck 7 were attempting to deliver some furniture to a customer’s home.  They were unable to contact this customer by phone for about an hour.  Upon arrival at the home Chris and Tony found that the customer’s mother was home alone, had fallen, and her lifeline was down.  Chris and Tony acted quickly and got the help of a neighbor or they were going to call 911.

In the end everything turned out just fine and the customers were very grateful for Chris and Tony’s service.  We are so proud to have employees in this company that will go above and beyond to help a person in need!

About Furniture Fair

Like an oak tree growing from an acorn, Furniture Fair has grown into the region’s premier home furnishings retailer.

Furniture Fair was founded in Erlanger Kentucky in 1963 by Robert “Bob” Daniels. Bob Daniels named his company Furniture Fair to reflect his belief in offering quality, name brand, home furnishings at fair prices, with exemplary service.

And as Rick Daniels, Bob’s son, and CEO of Furniture Fair says, “Those values still hold true today. We call our service department the Customer Care Department because we are serious about making our customers happy.”

Furniture Fair’s first store at 3932 Dixie Highway in Erlanger Kentucky was only 7,000 square feet. It’s still there and in use today as a Furniture Fair Clearance Center. But from those humble beginnings, expansion was always in the business plan.

“Our first expansion was in Fairfield, Ohio in 1972,” says Rick Daniels. “That store relocated in 1985 and today houses our corporate headquarters, warehousing and central distribution facility. Today Furniture Fair has over 200,000 square feet of warehousing space in a headquarters that is over 260,000 square feet.”

Other locations soon followed, “Northgate” on Colerain Avenue in 1976, Florence Kentucky, Eastgate, Fields Ertel in Deerfield Township in Ohio and our newest store location in Cold Spring Kentucky, which like our Fields Ertel location also houses a Design Destination Store. Furniture Fair’s newest business venture, a full service interior design facility.

While Bob Daniels was busy building a business, he was also raising a family with his wife Kate. Many of Bob’s children and grandchildren are involved in the business today. In addition to Rick Daniels, brothers Steve and Bill also hold leadership roles in the company. “We all started working here in our teens” says Rick Daniels.

“When Dad retired in 1979, Steve and I took over the business and Bill joined us as soon as he got out of college.” In addition many other family members work at a variety of jobs within the company including sister Jenny Wynne, who started Furniture Fair’s interior design services.

But the feeling of family doesn’t end with blood relatives. In fact, the extended Furniture Fair “Family” includes many employees who have been with the company more than 20 years including one who has been there since day one. “My Dad’s first bookkeeper “Juda”. Juda Yauger is still keeping the books at Furniture Fair today and like the Daniels’, her daughter and granddaughter work at Furniture Fair as part of multiple generations working together.”

Rick Daniels points out that the loyalty his father held with his first customers is still a guiding force today. “Stability, consistency and knowledge are the keys to longevity” he says. “Many fine furniture stores have come and gone since 1963, but we’re still here because of our people and our processes. The best ad in the world is a happy customer.”

In addition to the Furniture Fair store locations, our company operates 2 Thomasville Home Furnishings stores, 2 Design Destination locations along with 2 free standing Broyhill Home Furnishings Stores, and as was the case in 1963, further expansion is always in the business plan.
